Barbeque cooks and teams are invited to be part of an exciting event in downtown Waterloo.  Whether you are a novice cook or a veteran “barbequer” you can form a team and be part of the seventh annual BBQ’Loo and Blues, Too! cook off in downtown Waterloo.

Main Street Waterloo sponsors nearly 50 events annually in the central business district, bringing over 200,000 people downtown to see that the heart of the community is a safe and fun place to work, live and do business.  A barbeque cook off is one of the award winning festivals and celebrations that makes downtown Waterloo a great place to work, live and play!
BBQ’Loo and Blues Too! will be held Saturday, July 18 and 19, 2008, at Lincoln Park in downtown Waterloo.  The event will be open to the public, with additional free children’s activities, a chili competition, and live entertainment featuring Matt Woods & The Thunderbolts and Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials

BBQ’Loo and Blues, Too! is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society as a national qualifier, and declared by the Governor to be a State Championship event. There will be $10,000.00 in prizes awarded.

In addition to barbeque, we are welcoming a limited number of food vendors who will not be part of the competition, to sell directly to the crowd.
