Over 100 classes, programs, and workshops being offered this winter/spring Whether you’re a self-described non-artsy person or an artistic expert, the Waterloo Center for the Arts has a class for you! The Winter/Spring catalog of classes, programs and workshops has just been released and there is something for everyone ages 3 to 103.
There’s pottery, painting, digital arts, watercolor, Photoshop, jewelry making, painting, drawing, woodcarving, and more. You can even learn how to make a mosaic birdbath, funky toad house, or ceramic garden fountain, watch a movie with a local celebrity, learn to quilt, or take a free behind-the-scenes tour of the Center. With over 100 choices, the possibilities are endless! The Center offers a wide variety of classes for youth, family, teens, and adults, held during the day, in the evening, and on weekends. For example, Early Out with Art is for kids age 6-10 who want to spend their early dismissal Wednesdays having fun at the Phelps Youth Pavilion; or Early Out Playing with Fire is where teenagers can spend their afternoons creating with clay. Or, how about the Spring Break Blowout where kids ages 13-16 can spend three explosive days drawing, painting, sculpting, taking photos, watching movies and installing an exhibit of their work in one of the Center’s galleries. And why not work as a family and discover the wonders of clay by shaping it into creations during Saturday s’ Muddy Madness. To create in the digital age, learn the basics of Adobe Photoshop in just 4 lessons or learn to design and maintain websites and web applications with Adobe Dreamweaver. There really is something for everyone! Classes start soon! Registration is required for all classes and workshops. Call the Waterloo Center for the Arts at (319) 291-4490 to register or with any questions or visit www.waterloocenterforthearts.org for a complete class schedule. |
