The Christmas Schooner Presented by Main Street Players
The Christmas Schooner is a celebration of the families, tradition, courage and vision of the people that emigrated to the US in the 1800s. It tells the story of a Lake Michigan schooner Captain, whose German relatives living in Chicago write about not being able to celebrate the tradition of the Tannenbaum, because there were no Christmas trees available. He loads his Schooner with trees in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, to make one more voyage at the end of the season, the most dangerous time to be on the lake. Told in stories and songs based on actual historical events, The Christmas Schooner is an unforgettable experience.
