Culture attracts people and companies to communities. A survey of more than 1,200 high-technology workers found that "community quality of life" was the second most important factor - right below salary - in the attractiveness of a new job. In fact, it scored higher than benefits, stock options or company stability.

Auditions are now being scheduled for player vacancies in the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony for their 2008-09 season.  Positions to be filled include section strings, oboe 3/auxiliary English horn, bassoon 2 and bassoon 3/contrabassoon.  All winds and brass are encouraged to audition for the sub list.
